The City of Alvin encourages citizen participation in municipal government and welcomes YOUR interest in serving on a city board or commission. The Mayor and City Council give a great deal of thought to the make up of each board and seeks to have a diversified and balanced group. Serving on a board or commission is an opportunity to "get involved" in the community and the operations of your local government. The City encourages anyone interested to apply for a position. A signed and completed Willingness to Serve Form must be submitted to the City Clerk's office for consideration. The City Clerk will notify all applicants in writing regarding the interview process. Appointments are made by the Mayor and by the City Council in December of each year. Terms begin in January. This does not apply to the Board of Ethics and Compliance
