The Parks and Recreation Department is located at 800 Dyche Lane. The department oversees the development and construction of all City parks and recreation facilities and is responsible for building and lawn maintenance for all City structures and facilities. The department coordinates all summer activities, adult and youth sports year round and special events.

The Parks and Recreation Department has one of the largest Community Services Program in Brazoria County. This program has been a significant cost savings program for the City of Alvin each year and provides us with help to keep our City streets and parks clean. The Community Services Program also helps with special projects and events.

The Alvin Senior Citizen Center is located at 309 W. Sealy. You may investigate the site for the Alvin Senior Citizen Center to see what programs they offer. This is a nice 10,000 square foot facility for center programs and rentals.

The City of Alvin Parks and Recreation Department has many summer and year-round programs available to the community. We make every attempt to obtain the best staff possible for our programs. All athletic programs are coordinated by experienced teachers, coaches, and professionals. The aquatic staff is certified by the American Red Cross and have taken extensive training to ensure your safety and enjoyment.
