Year Round Recreational Programs

The City of Alvin Parks and Recreation Department centers on providing support and activities for all age groups of the general public, local civic, and athletic groups.

Adult Open Swim: Swimming offers the best exercise you can get for cardiovascular conditioning and muscle toning! Adult open swim offers a time when adults over 18 can enjoy the benefits of swimming. These classes will be held at Harby Junior High School from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. The dates are ongoing for this program.

$15.00 per month for residents
$20.00 per month for nonresidents.

Evening Lap Swim/Water Walking:This program is open to all ages! Swimmers under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Pool is available for both lap swim and water walking during this time. Family passes are available year round.These classes are held at Harby Junior High from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The dates are ongoing for this program.

$20.00 per month for residents
$25.00 per month for nonresidents
$40.00 family pass for residents
$60.00 family pass for nonresidents
