Garbage Collection

Regular Garbage Collection - Residential curbside garbage along with cut, tied and bundled limbs are normally collected on Monday through Friday and include:

Brush cut in lengths of 4 feet or less, tied in bundles not exceeding 50 pounds, and placed no more than 5 feet from the edge of the roadway on regular collection days at no additional charge.
Junk or trash generated by ordinary maintenance of a household, but too large for the container, items weighing no more than 50 pounds and that are able to be picked up by two people.
If your trash collection day falls on a holiday, your pickup day will shift to the next day, Friday collections will be picked up on Suturday.

Garbage Holidays - New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Locate your address on the map. Identify the color designated for your area. Determine the pickup day below based on the map color corresponding with your address:

Purple.........Monday
Orange........Tuesday
Yellow.........Wednesday
Blue............Thursday
Green..........Friday

Weekly Curbside Collection of Heavy Trash - All heavy trash must be placed at the curb no later than 7:00 am on your regular trash and recycling day. It must be reasonably contained and not exceed 6 cubic yards (approximately the size of a Volkswagen). This includes limb and brush cut in lengths 4 feet or less, bundled and tied.

Heavy trash items are defined as:

Junk or trash generated by ordinary maintenance of a household, but too large for the container.
Appliances (Freon removed and properly tagged by licensed professional).
Drained hot water heaters, furniture, carpet.

Progressive Waste Solutions will pick up brush that is piled at the curb, uncut for a fee of $12.08 per cubic yard. The resident must contact Progressive Waste Solutions to remove the brush for the appropriate fee or remove the brush themselves. Code Enforcement notification allows 10 days for removal.

Items that do not qualify as heavy trash:

Debris from construction or remodeling
Hazardous materials, vehicle bodies, tires (special collection times will be listed on website as they are scheduled)
Any other items excluded from disposal in TYPE I or TYPE IV landfills.

Citizens Convenience Center at 827 W. Hwy 6, Progressive Waste Solutions phone number is 281-331-0810. Open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. You can take 6 cubic yards once per month at no charge with proof of residential billing statement and driver’s license. The address on the Texas Driver's License needs to match your statement, billing address or service address.
