Oak Park Cemetery, located at the east end of Oak Park Drive, has been owned and operated by the City of Alvin since 1892. There are 6 tracks of gravesites and the only mausoleum and the only columbarium in Alvin. Adult gravesites sell for $1,200.00 per space, and infant gravesites sell for $500.00 per space. The prices for the niches in the columbarium range between $500.00 and $800.00 per niche, depending upon the location of the particular niche.
The cemetery contains graves of both Union and Confederate Veterans, veterans of the Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Viet Nam War. Many early business leaders of the community are also buried within Oak Park Cemetery.
It is a responsibility of the City Secretary’s office to improve the appearance and marketing of Oak Park Cemetery. They will be happy to provide you with timely and accurate information concerning the cemetery. Anyone wishing to place a grave marker or foundation setting at the cemetery needs to complete this Application for Grave Marker and Foundation Settings and please return the completed form to the City Secretary’s office with the appropriate fee.
Quarterly Cemetery Clean-Up Dates:
- Rescheduled to February 8th, 2023, Due to Rain
On the aforementioned dates, any items that are on, in or around gravesites that are in violation of the rules and regulations will be removed. This includes holiday decorations from the previous holiday that have not yet been removed.
